Other bits & bobs
Only 6 ingredients needed to make these nutrient packed skinny date & cacao protein bliss balls. Perfect to keep in your handbag or the fridge when you need a sugar fix! They’re so soft, chewy & delightfully healthy.
I am a big daytime snacker and if I am not prepared, I end up having the 3pm crash which ends in me reaching for the chic chip cookies…or the twisties…or the block of chocolate. My snacking has grown to an all time high recently as I have started to workout in the mornings. By midday most weekdays I have already consumed 2 coffees, a protein shake, a banana and my breakfast (usually boiled eggs or my new favourite granola). The funny thing is, come 12 pm I am ravenous again and ready for lunch. Now before you say it, I’m not pregnant, or PMS’ing, I just have a healthy appetite, a really really healthy appetite!
With that in mind, I was playing in the kitchen with one goal – to create some healthy snacks that will help me get through the day so I am not turning to junk food.
The ingredients below are pretty flexible, you can swap out the macadamias for other nuts, or swap the dates for another dried fruit like apricots. We would love to hear about more flavour combinations, so comment below if you have any suggestions!
Also – don’t forget to hashtag #cookwiththemacadames when making our recipes. We’d love to hear how your went and get a peek at your kitchen table.
