My first experience with the super berry of the amazon was when I was 15 years old and working at Boost Juice. They were well ahead of the curve and we were already selling wheatgrass shots and fresh juices to health nuts daily. We started selling Acai (pronounced ‘ah-sigh-ee’) shots and I remember thinking, what is this strange smelling purple goop that people are going crazy for?
This ancient relative of the blueberry and cranberry is packed with antioxidants, and has been claimed to help with everything from anti-aging to cancer fighting. Here’s some things you might not know about the acai berry:
This recipe gives you a great bowl of creamy frozen acai that you can top with fruit and nuts for a really delicious breakfast or snack. It is similar texture to a soft serve ice cream but completely healthy.

1. In the blender, combine the frozen acai, frozen banana, coconut milk and berries. If your blender is struggling to process it, add more liquid until it is a creamy soft-serve consistency
2. Serve immediately in a bowl topped with fruit, seeds and nuts
